The
Chemical Engineering Days 2012 will be held in Curtin University, Sarawak
Malaysia (Curtin Sarawak) on 10th to 11th August 2012
with the aim to provide professional soft skills training and a platform for
national chemical engineering competitions to our chemical engineering
students.
This is a
collaborative effort between Curtin Sarawak’s School of Engineering and
Science’s Department of Chemical Engineering and the Curtin Chemical Engineering
Student Club (CESC).
There will
be series of industrial talks and professional workshops for the students that
will be hosted over a period of one and a half day. The
highlight of the event is the “Chem-E-Car Competition”, an annual university
competition for chemical engineering students, where several groups of students
are to design and construct a chemically powered vehicle within a certain size
constraint, along with a poster describing their research.
Another event in conjunction with Chemical Engineering Days 2012 is National Chemical Engineering Symposium (NACES) Internal competition, where it is open to all Chemical Engineering undergraduate students and the winner for the competition will represent the university to the national level.
Currently, we are looking for sponsorship to enhance the impact of this event to students. The money will be used to give out prizes to winners for any activities as well as to promote the event and the sponsors. Sponsorship in either in cash or in kind are welcome and we would be honored if any parties are willing to participate in the event as sponsors.
Further information, please kindly contact the organising chairperson, Hiew Wan Jun at wanjunhiew@gmail.com or 012 8515286.
Thank you and have a great day!
